DENIED: Royal Holloway SU vote NO on Queen Boycott

The motion for Royal Holloway Student’s Union (SURHUL) to boycott The Queen from presenting a professorship to the University’s music department was rejected. Tactics played a heavy hand in this motion, and students watched as radical amendments tore apart the original characteristics of the proposal.

An example of this is viewed here, as the original proposal “That SURHUL should not take part in the ceremony involving the Queen in March, 2014” was changed to “That officers of SURHUL are free to attend the ceremony in a official capacity.” Other amendments were added, such as: “That the Queen shooting a machine gun is cool”.

Conclusion: No changes.
