UKIP often gets accused of being a homophobic party, and while Nigel Farage has said he won’t expel members who call gay sex ‘disgusting’ it seems that not everyone in the party shares his laid back attitude towards such comments.
Milton has stumbled across a petition for the removal of Douglas Denny, a member of UKIP’s National Executive Committee. The petition, started by grassroots activists, claims that Denny ‘has been reported to making statements that can be deemed homophobic.’ Which ‘has brought great upset onto many Party members, in particular leading to members leaving the Party or considering to do so. ‘
‘We would appreciate it that Mr Denny would be removed from the NEC. We would find it otherwise hypocritical of the Party as Mr Geoffrey Clarke – a UKIP candidate was removed for his personal views on unborn babies with Down’s syndrome and yet not to remove Mr Denny for his views on gay people.’
Milton understands that the Mr Denny has used the UKIP members forum to allegedly brand homosexuals as sodomites and is quoted in the Daily Mirror calling gay sex ‘disgusting’ and voicing:
‘What irritates me is they (sic) way they and their leftie, neo-Commie followers seem to want to force the rest of us to consider them as normal.
“I just wish they would keep their homosexual nature and practices to themselves and stop trying to ram it down my throat telling me they are ‘normal’ when they are not’
The full petition can be found here.
Are the fruitcakes and loonies finally getting purged?
