He told you he’d be back: The return of Arnold Schwarzenegger

Charlie Granby,
After a decade with a lack of muscle, the Oak is back. Having put his acting career on hold while he took on the honourable duty as 38th Governor of California, it’s safe to say we’ve missed the big guy and it’s great to have him back.

Or is it?

Arnold’s ‘debut’ if you like in returning to the cinema has not only brought him a cringy yet loveable role in Stallone’s ‘Expendables 2’, but it has also unearthed huge uproar within his family since the reminder of his affair with the former housekeeper has slapped everyone across the face.

We all knew that he and his wife, Maria Shriver split in 2011 due to marriage problems. Now the release of an all-beans-spilled book, ‘Total Recall- My Unbelievably True Life Story’ (I know you’re all reading the book title in his voice) has allowed Arnie to speak openly and to the world about the affair with Mildred Baena, leading to things getting a little heated in the star’s Hollywood home.

Here you can watch him speak out about his affair and what Maria thinks by following this link: http://youtu.be/g3krmPEF7Ds

So, has his return to the big screen when mixed with the personal analysis of his affair ruined his reputation? Should he have just kept the nib within the pen, keep trap about the affair and not write the book? I want to be optimistic and hope for the best but could this perhaps be the fizzling end to the days where everyone loved Arnie? Maybe he should just GET TO THE CHOPPA right now and fly as far away as possible and as soon as!

What do you think? I still think he’s a legend (if a little seedy) but I’d love to hear what you all think, so tweet us, @Backbencher or tweet me at @LilWallopFilm using the hash tag #arnieisback.
