Images have surfaced online a new Android flip-phone from Samsung. With the rise of smartphones, the flip-phone form factor has taken a back seat; the design has mostly been used for small budget phones, and rarely for phones with the smartphone features we have become accustomed to. Until now that is.
Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Golden, the phone will reportedly come with a 3.7-inch 480×800 WVGA display, a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, and Android 4.2. As can be seen from the photo, the device will come packed with two displays, so the phone can be used when the phone is both flipped open and closed.
Flip-phones may have been on the way out over the past few years, but this new device looks pretty flair. This isn’t the first Android flip-phone Samsung have released – they released the SCH-W999 flip-phone in the Chinese market back in December 2011 – but it is definitely the most promising.
Another device to add to the wide array of ‘Galaxy’ smartphones, the Galaxy Golden is first destined to see a release in Samsung’s home country, South Korea, with there being no immediate plans for an international release.
